That was a superb episode and the scene in the depths of the mine was rather gratifying as I've been hoping for something of the sort. It's interesting that their mutual antagonisms began to transmute into an almost mild form of sibling rivalry, and no more, as they found themselves alone and isolated in the womb of the earth, so to speak.
Aboveground, all that yelling and screaming. Contending greeds and interests, the woman both want, confusion! Below ground, an perhaps contemplating death, one bemoans the way life has treated him and the other extends a hand...These two were bonded when they left! But - darn - something tells me it won't last.
No idea who managed to reach the banks of the river...

So true! I love the mother earth motif, the womb as you described, that suddenly spat out H & A. into the rushing waters TOGETHER, like they were when they were both birthed!
AHA! In order to find out who reached the riverbanks first, we need Boris to tell us who was born first! Boris always has the needed info, like the plans to each of the mansions and to the mine...
